When Danny returned to Little Madison, he found the children gave off disappointing looks towards his direction.
“You didn’t get rid of that scary man.”
“He’s not scary. He’s a nice guy, you just need to get to know him.” Until that kiss GhostWriter implanted on him three days ago, Danny would never have thought to compliment him. It still distorted him that he’d give such a high opinion on that man, but truly GhostWriter never meant any harm towards Danny before and after that Christmas incident.
“But he’s scary! And he keeps staring at people while writing stuff down.”
“That’s because he wants to write a book that takes place in the country, that’s all.”
“So he’s not a stalker?”
“Would I lie to you kids?”
“I guess not. I mean, Sue told me you were really friendly with him and we trust you.”
“Sue?” Danny eyed a blond haired boy who said that.
“Yeah, she said she saw you two walking last night holding hands.”
“Ooh, and you went to have dinner at the local steakhouse.”
“And she said you two kissed.”
“I never saw a guy kiss another guy. What’s it like? Does it hurt?”
“I think it’s romantic.”
“I-It wasn’t that big a deal,” Danny answered even though it was, “How did Sue find out?”
“Sue told me because she’s my older sister,” Keisha answered, “She said she’s been spying on you the moment you left with that spooky guy, but she told me to promise to never tell you or anyone, but I did because I forgot I wasn’t suppose and--”
“She was SPYING on me?!” Danny gasped. The children nodded as their answer.
“…Where is she?”
“She’s at home, want me to take you there?” Keisha asked. Danny nodded, hesitate to enter the house where Sue of all people lived, forcing himself to move through fueled anger.
Sue’s house served to be the biggest out of most residence, seeing as she is the daughter of the Mayor of Little Madison. Still, that did little to intimidate Danny (Vlad’s manor is much bigger) as he approached the front door and rang the doorbell, impatiently tapping his foot as the door open revealing an old butler.
“Yes?”
“Is Sue here, I need to speak to her.”
“And you are?”
"Danny. Danny Fenton."
“Ahh, Miss Keisha,” The butler turned his gaze towards the small girl, “Is there anything I can do for you?”
“Just get my sister.”
“Right away.”
A minute later, a cheeky faced Sue came, her smile widening upon seeing Danny.
“Danny, wow--this is like the first time you came over to my house, won’t you come in?”
“No, thanks. We need to talk.”
Her response afterwards: a mischievous giggle.
“What’s this about you spying on me with that man last night?” After Danny asked, Sue’s smile turned wide open as she eyed Keisha with a death glare.
“You TOLD him?!”
“It slipped my mind!”
“You little rat! I oughta have half the mind to--”
“SUE!” Danny stepped in, “Why did you spy me? You had no right!”
“Oh, come on, I bet you’ve done your share.”
Danny let off a quick guilty blush. Indeed, he suddenly remembered when he spied on Sam two years ago on the so-called foreign exchange student “Gregor”, assuming him to be a Guys in White, even though most of that fiasco was to disguise his own jealously.
“That’s not the point I’m making, kid. You still had no right. Why would you do it? Are you jealous?”
“I just wanted to see if you’re really gay or not. I caught you two holding hands and I swore you two kissed. Are you gay?”
“No.”
“You sure?”
“Even if I was, does it matter?”
“It can and being the mayor’s daughter, I’m sure with proper pushing, it will.”
“Well, I live with Vlad AKA well-known billionaire of America with plenty of topnotch lawyers.”
Sue winched, satisfying Danny.
“I can be gay, bi, straight or whatever I want to be, “Danny continued, “It’s my life, my choice and the people who support me will care less. Vlad will love me, no matter what I am.”
“Love”. Currently, he meant it in a more paternal point of view the older male figure gave him, but it still stung him when he ushered that word.
Sue let off a small relief and Danny immediately nodded in his suspicion that she, indeed retained jealously. That stated, he pointed towards Sue and let off a warning, “Don’t spy on me again.” He then walked away.
“…Well, if you’re not gay, you’re still straight, right? Does that mean I can still hang around with you?”
Danny didn’t answer and just stormed off, Keisha following behind.

“What’s wrong with guys kissing guys?” Keisha shrugged, “Isn’t love the same either way?” Only eight years old and already she took in the concept of homosexuality well. She was only eight though, probably not at all aware of the deeper meanings and controversy behind it.
“In the end, people fall in love and they get married and have lots of babies.” She stifled a giggle, “What will your babies look like, you and that mysterious man?”
“Messy hair and pale skins.” Danny joked, “…Two guys can’t make babies, Keisha. We can always adopt though or use a surrogate mother and--” He stopped himself before he’d have to resort to explaining to her what “surrogate mother” is.
“So, my sister says you’re gay. Is that when two guys kiss each other?”
“Well, yeah, basically, but I’m not gay.” Danny shook his head, “I mean, I still think girls are beautiful to look at, so I suppose I’m more bi.” He stopped walking at this point, realizing just what he had said. He admitted he is now officially bisexual.
“Danny? What’s wrong?”
“N-Nothing. I…I should head over to the Masters’ farm now.”
______________________________
“I need you to help herd cows for the next couple of weeks or so,” Abe finally decided on a job for Danny when he begged for one a couple of days back, “My regular workers Hank and his son Kevin headed off to the big city, New York for family issues. Think you can handle it?”
“Sure…I hope.” Danny gulped.
“I’ll herd with you for today and see how you do, but I have much work to do back at the Masters’ farm, so I’ll be sure to find a second person to help out.”
Danny nodded and both he and Abe rode on the back on their respective horses. Herding proved to be a challenge in that at times the cows wandered away from the crowd, causing Danny to ride over to it and frustratingly lure it back. He quickly got the hang of it as most of the cows remained rather obedient. They reached a wide, grassy plain where the cows snacked, as did Danny and Abe.
“Boy? You all right? You ain’t touching you food.”
“Hmm? Yeah, I guess.”
“You sick or something?” He pressed his hands to Danny’s forehead.
“N-No, I’m just thinking.”
“Well, talk to me, I’m here to listen.”
“…Mr. Masters…”
“I don’t like you calling me that, it’s weird.”
“How is weird? A lot of people call you that.”
“But you’re different. Since you live with my son, I’d think it’d be more appropriate if you call me “grandpa.”
“Grandpa?”
“Yes, I like that.”
“Alright…grandpa.”
“Good. Now tell me what your problem is.”
“It’s not THAT big a deal, I mean--nothing for you to worry so much on and--I--” Danny placed a hand behind the back of his head, “…How does this town feel about…homosexuality?”
“Well, I reckon it’s just as controversial over here as it is elsewhere.”
“O-Oh.”
“…Are you gay?”
“NO! I mean…s-sorta.”
“Sorta? There is no sorta. You’re either gay or you ain’t.”
“I’m kinda in-between. I went on a date with this friend of mine, Valerie, back in Amity Park and I thought she was beautiful and her kiss was amazing, but I felt empty.”
“Oh?”
“Then I went on a pseudo date with Ghos--I mean, that mysterious man who came to Little Madison recently.”
“You went on a date with a stranger?!”
“I-I’m alright, don’t worry about it. I kinda know him, too.”
“You seem to know everyone. I suppose it’s a benefit living under a rich roof.” Abe gave off an irritated look.
“Well, long story short, I liked his kiss, too and…well, I think I’m bisexual.”
Abe remained silent, closing his eyes to sink this all in. Him being eerily calm lasted as much a chill in Danny’s spines that Vlad manage to succeed in doing to him himself. Like father, like son indeed.
“Grandpa?”
“…Oy, next thing I know, people will make them gay cowboy jokes,” He eyed Danny with a contended smile, “But I have high love for ya, boy. Gay or straight or in-between, it don’t wash away that personality you have that the people of Little Madison and I love.”
“Grandpa…thank you, “Danny smiled, “If it’s okay though, can you please keep it a secret for now. I--I’m not ready to tell anyone yet, especially Vlad.”
“I promise, but the people here would probably still accept you. We’re good people.” Abe stood up, giddy over the prospect of hiding a secret for Danny that usually fell to Vlad, one upping his own son.
“So…you like that mysterious man? Is that why you turned bi?”
“…Y-Yeah.” Danny slightly lied, knowing deep inside that Vlad officially turned him bi, GhostWriter more or less triggering it off, he just needed to know how and when.
