*Nervous*

I'm gonna turn 21 in just two days. June 15, the big 2-1 when I can finally be declared an official adult. To drink and gamble as freely as the law requires me to. But knowing me, I'll cry about how old I'm getting, move on, and just wait till I turn 22 where I'll rinse and repeat.

It's just...weird that my mom is ragging on me to get a boyfriend. It's not a bad thing, she rarely does it, but it's a weird feeling. I was raised for the first nine years of my life with typical, cliche strict "Get Straight A's in school" Asian parents, but they mellowed out in time, yet their opinion on my romance life was the same: don't date. Hell, my father took a loooooooong time to decide if I was allowed to go to my prom with my best friend, Chris, even though I told him multiple times we're FRIENDS, not a couple. Mom would nod and agree (I know they're just being protective), but dang, it just feels weird for her to say that. Of course I'm still in no rush, though I wonder if I'm just saying that because I've never been in a relationship...ever.

What I am nervous on is a job interview with Target come tomorrow morning. GAWD, butterflies in my stomach! I have AC Moore and Toys R' Us as my fallback should I not get the Target job, but damn, I need a job desperately and I'm scared shit. Wish me luck, guys.

Good luck with the job search. It's a bit strange about your Mom though, I guess she's overcompensating for when they said the oposite.

Aww, poor Neoyi. We have the whole coming of age (with the alcohol and gambling etc) at 18, so I've already gone through that. It's nowhere near as interesting once it's legal. However despite everything, there are decided benefits from age.^_^

You've been pretty low key about the birthday...but eh, turning 21 isn't all that great...that is until you get out of the house. THEN it gets interesting...good luck with that job interview. I hope it goes well...keep you in my thoughts I will. As for the relationship issue, heh, I find my situation is different. My parents, family, extended family hasn't asked me to wait but asked am I dating, since like I was 17. And then I dated and they didn't approve of my choices. It's hit or miss, but I'm confident you won't bend to pressure and you'll date when you're good and ready (As it seems you aren't ready just yet but maybe you are...haha)

Congratulations on turning 21, Neo! You'll be legal to do things you probably don't care to do anyway. :P

Try not to stress about the interview. Show that you can be calm and resourceful and concientious- best of luck! (Although fair warning: I don't know how Target's interviews for working in the store are, but their interviews for internships were brutal. If that happens to be the case here, take it with a grain of salt and know it's not you- it's them and it's a reason I'm not totally gung-ho about Target anymore- although I definitely prefer them to Walmart.)
